Happy Birthday Nathan!
"My birfday coming, my birfday coming", this is what we heard for weeks prior to July 8th. Several weeks ago, we were in the toy store and Nathan wanted some cars, we told him he could get them for his birthday and that it was coming very soon. So, he decided to tell everyone and anyone who would listen that his birthday was coming.
Thankfully, he was very excited to open those same cars and now 2 days later he is still carrying them around. Last night I had to tell him they needed to sleep in the living room. The night before he was playing with them at 2 a.m.!
The Lord has blessed our lives so very much with our Nathy boy. I cannot even imagine what life was like before him and I thank God for creating him just for our family.
The night of his birthday, we hosted the Champion Forest Baptist team (Houston) for dinner. They were here working with an orphanage and school. Tim and I got to go to the school one afternoon and work a bit with them. Tim got to paint the bathroom and I got to polish fingernails of all ages of young girls. It was fun to get out and do some ministry work. We are so very blessed to have them as our prayer partners and very thankful that they are reaching out to Tim's mom and Jeff in Houston. This is Meagan who also celebrated her birthday on the 8th.
So this week we are doing language M-Th and then we are off to Mombasa for 4 days...we are all very excited!

On Saturday, we originally promised the kids we would take them to the water park but this is winter in Nairobi so when we woke up, it was a bit chilly. Thankfully there is a croc farm that we had not visited yet and we "convinced" the kids that would be a better choice instead of the water park...really Mom was refusing to go to the water park, notice I am wearing a jacket in the picture below!!!
Katie was so excited about holding this little guy, notice he does not have his mouth taped, this made for a very nervous mother!
Surprised that my big man was a bit scared of holding the croc...this is one of his favorite animals.
This tortoise was 50 years old and about 50 lbs!

Happy Birthday Nathan!!!!! Loved the pics of the kids and little buddy with his presents. And the holding the croc pictures? Wow!! Nick and Katie, you guys are so brave! Mombasa? How exciting!! You'll have to let me know how it is!!! Praying for you all as you learn language as well. Ninamwomba. (I think that's I am praying for you in swahili. then again maybe not!) Miss you all and praying for you!
