Monterey, CA Day 2
Day 2 dawned very early for us...about 4 a.m. Pacific time, so we got out and about very early. We spent the day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it was wonderful! There are so many different types of species housed in the aquarium and the kids were entertained the entire day. We saw the otters being fed, these are one of my favorite sea creatures, they are so cute.
This is the only aquarium in the world that has housed a Great White Shark, which is one of Nicholas' favorite swimmers. They had one on display until November 2009 but apparently it started eating the other fish in the tank so they had to release it back in the wild.
Nathan really enjoyed getting to play in the water, there were many hands on exhibits where you could touch kelp, many plants and animals.
