Praise Him!

I am so thankful and joyful for answered prayer, and I praise Jesus for all of His goodness.  He has provided in so many ways for our family, and the past 3 weeks have been a wild ride.  My greatest joy is to make sure that God gets all of the credit for the miracles He has orchestrated over the past weeks.  And while we have seen big miracles, I want to remember that He is also the gentle whisper in the days to come.  He has opened up seats on airplanes, scheduled impossible doctors appointments and provided an income for our family when we return to America, yet I need him just as much in the day-to-day tasks of life as the big moments.

I have not just seen His hand at work in the past days but in the past years!  He has connected us with people from His church around the world.  His people have loved on us, prayed with us and worked with us.  I have learned so much about how the church is God's people, not a building or a location.  And those people are just as flawed as I am, they are just as broken, there is nothing they can do to save themselves, anymore than I can save myself.  The real miracle is that Jesus loves every human on this planet.

How can I do anything but praise the LORD for all He has done?  As we journey through this Easter week and reflect on the last days of Jesus' life, I am in complete awe of all He has done and what He will do in the future.  He knew that there was going to be a dear friend betray him, a terribly painful beating and finally death but He accepted this and did not waiver from the will of his Father.  He obediently walked the path that God commanded because He loves you and me.  As we were discussing these things with our children last night, they asked questions that I cannot answer but I have faith that this love of God is real.  They questioned why would someone die for me...because of love, that is the only answer I can give, even when I cannot fully understand this level of love.  I am so thankful for this love and how it has changed my life for eternity.  As you reflect on the events of Easter, I pray that you will open your heart and eyes to this amazing love, a love that is so selfless.  I pray that you will allow Jesus to become the LORD of your life, that you will believe that He is the risen Christ.
