Christmas 2010

Where has the time gone??  I know many people ask that question but it seems as if time just disappears for me.  It seems like we were just starting to prepare for Christmas and now there is Valentine's Day stuff up at our local Wal-Mart!  Frankly, I want to hold on to Christmas a bit longer...I don't want to forget about the self-less sacrifice of our Lord and Savior in my effort to celebrate the next holiday.

We had a wonderful Christmas celebration in Houston last week.  We got to spend precious time with grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.  It was such a special time and made even sweeter knowing we are starting a new chapter in our lives.

We began our visit with a stopover at Adrienne's sister's house and the kids got to spend some time with their cousins.  The next day, we met up with cousins to go to the Houston Zoo, which just opened an Africa exhibit.  The weather was remarkably mild and enjoyable (you won't often hear me say that about Houston weather! :-)) and the kids had a wonderful time running all over the place.  The adults were definitely much more worn out than the children by the end of the day.

On Christmas Eve, we got to worship with 2 of Adrienne's aunts.  It is amazing how the Lord has drawn us together and we praise Him for the encouragement these ladies are to our family.

Then came Christmas Day!  The kids were so excited as we celebrated Jesus' Birthday with cupcakes for breakfast.  Tim read Luke 2 and we completed an exciting book called "Jotham's Journey" (excellent book for Advent!).  It was a low key morning and we really enjoyed taking it easy and reflecting on God's love for us.  That evening, several of Tim's family came over an we had authentic Mexican food for dinner...it was DELICIOUS!

We praise the Lord for family and friends and are so thankful that we were able to celebrate Christmas with them.  Tomorrow we are off to Alabama to visit 2 churches and catch up with Brandon's family.

The Lord's blessings to you all!
