Preparing to leave Lusaka continued ...

Okay so I am typing this on my phone and could not fix my typos and get back to the bottom of my list so here is something else I am excited about...
6. Nathan is being used by the Lord here... I know many of you would not be surprised by that statement so let me explain. I have discovered that Africans do not believe in adoption. If a child is an orphan the family is expected to step up and help care for the child. If there is no family, the child is taken to the orphanage. This is good in some ways but not so good in others-many times the family does not want to take the child or does not have the resources available to care for the child and I am not sure where they think the money comes from to run the orphanages. As you know, Nathan has never met a stranger and people are curious about him so I have already had 2 opportunities to share with women why we chose to adopt. When I told one woman that my main reason to adopt was because the bible tells us to care for the orphans and widows, it was like a lightbulb went on. Her comment was "maybe I too could do a good thing such as this." As most of you know, I am very passionate about adoption and I love seeing the Lord work through Nathan! Thank you Lord for allowing me to be this child's mother!!!

I have many more things to share but they will have to wait until I can download pictures. Would you please pray for Katie, as she is struggling right now? Please pray that she would be able to use her words to express her feelings instead of shutting down.
